Christmas Cookies! One of this little family’s Top 5 favorite Christmas Traditions!
1. Candy Cane Blossoms from Cupcake Diaries
These little beauties are sure to be a hit! The kids are going to be so excited to roll them around in the sprinkles, and add the kiss on top once they are out of the oven. Remember to let them cool a teeny bit first though or you will end up with an ooey-gooey mess…trust me
2 . Candy Cane Cookies by Yummy Healthy Easy
I’m not sure how it is at your house, but Candy Canes never seem to lose their appeal at ours! Hopefully we can replace that sticky tradition with these fun Candy Cane Cookies instead!
3. Melting Snowmen Cookies – Frugal Coupon Living
I am sure most of you are very familiar with the Melting Snowman Cookie, am I right?! Well, here is a fun fact: Meaghan (very lovely lady) from the Decorated Cookie actually made the original Melting Snowman back in 2008! There are countless versions floating around these days, but I love this one for being super kid-friendly. The Littlest Helper will have no problem at all recreating these little beauties all on her own this Christmas (other than the actual baking as the oven is still off limits, even while supervised!)
4. Slice ‘n’ Bake Christmas Tree Cookies – Mom Loves Baking
This is one that is a little more parent intensive, though older kids can probably manage on their own. What a fun, creative cookie idea! Won’t they be proud? And won’t the recipients be impressed!
5. Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies – Bakergirl
Simple but adorable! These little reindeer cookies are not only adorable but hey…peanut butter and chocolate? Need I say more?!
6. No-Bake Christmas Tree Cookies – The Recipe Rebel
Depending on their age, your little helpers might need some help melting the butter for these No-Bake Christmas Tree Cookies, but beyond that, they are good to go!
7. Sprinkle Christmas Tree Cookies – Sprinkle Bakes
Okay, I admit it…these little Christmas Tree cookies are probably super parent-involved. But aren’t they gorgeous?! Your kids will have fun just being a part of the process with these ones! And you get to be a super-star!
8. Eggnog Cut-Out Cookies – Deliciously Sprinkled
These pretty snowflake cookies are so very simple yet look gorgeous don’t they? And such an easy cookie for kids to bake! The Littlest Helper and I made these last Christmas and they were a real hit! I think Santa even got a couple when he stopped by!
9. Colorful Christmas Slice and Bake Cookies – Our Italian Kitchen
Here is another that will be pretty heavy on the parent-assist, but are they perfect for that Christmas Cookie Exchange or what?! They were actually inspired by this one from Heather at Sprinkle Bakes. I know I say this a lot but these would be awesome Whoville cookies for your family Grinch Night!
10. Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies – Wives with Knives
These little Christmas Tree Cookies look a lot more complicated than they are! While you might want to handle the sharp knife for cutting the tree shapes off the “block”, the kids can be happily rolling balls of dough for the tree trunks at the same time!
11. Sprinkle Sugar Cookie Sticks – Just A Taste
These little Christmas cookie sticks are sure to be a hit with the toddler crowd! Dip and stick sprinkles? You gotta love that! And older kids only need a pizza wheel to cut the sticks – no sharp knives involved!
12. Stained Glass Christmas Cookies – Childhood 101
Aren’t these stained glass cookies sweet? The kids will really enjoy working on these ones! The Littlest Helper always gets excited when we pull out the hammer or rolling pin to smash things up in the kitchen…can you relate?
13. Marble Sugar Cookies- Two Sisters Crafting
This cookie decorating idea is brilliant! I can’t believe I had never thought of it! Talk about an easy way to decorate without the added time, energy and mess on their hands/face/hair/the table/the floor/and-everything-else-in-the-kitchen! The perfect Christmas sugar cookie!
14. Molasses Cookies – Deliciously Sprinkled
This Christmas cookie I love for it’s simplicity. Even the tiniest of helpers will find dipping and sparkle-sticking fun and easy to do!
15. Christmas Thumbprint Cookies – Life of a Whisk
This adorable take on Christmas thumbprint cookies is simply adorable! Imagine how much fun the kids will have with these ones – from rolling on the sprinkles, to squishing their little thumbs into the middles, to filling the indents with icing. Just a thought…use a plastic bottle for filling them to make it easier for them to keep their aim, and to minimize the mess! (PS – these would be a great Grinchy treat for your fun family Grinch Night!)
